Fall leaf collection -

Has the schedule been announced?

County road schedule was also announced.  You can find it on the town website.

What'd'ya do when ya got vegetation that isn't leaves?  Weeds with roots, stems and leaves or English Ivy?

The leaflet only says no branches.

Wait until rake out in the spring.  I have receptacles in my yard to store the rest if need be.

Balderdash.  I've been saving that stuff since just after the rake out this spring.  Not waiting any longer, I'm out of space.

Mulch it.

If you actually rake your leaves, all of those things will wind up in the pile anyway. If you rake properly, the way I was forced to as a kid  question

I discreetly mix in with the leaves.

Thanks for the tip. I'll get some green spray paint from H.D., spray the roots and stems...

Dude they just scoop up everything. They don't even get out of their trucks. Your "leaves" could be full of sandals and Reeses pieces they don't give a flyingfuck.

Week 1 is almost over. Not one leaf has been collected in my neighborhood.

My first pile was collected on Tuesday.  Then many more leaves fell and you would never know there had been a collection. Some people just wait and do the job once after more leaves are on the ground.

That's a different problem. Different subspecies of Oak drop their leaves at different times in fall. On the trails, many Oak trees are already bare or with just a few remaining leaves. The Oak in our yard has about 15% of its leaves. just turning red. Based on prior years, It will not drop it's leave until mid - late December.

--- update, gone this morning.

We usually do it twice - once about halfway through the season and once at the end.

We (meaning me) don't rake or do anything with the leaves 'sept let 'em rot on the ground.

Leaves are a pain in the a$$ on the trails at this time of year. We can't see roots, stones or water underneath.

We definitely leave some, but too many make a slimy mess and kill some of the garden plants. It's a balance for us. (I'm definitely not into eliminating every single leaf from my yard.)

I don't have a leaf blower --- gas or electric, because I just don't care about leaves on the lawn.

Half of the lawn has "gone to seed/weed" and the rest is mowed so's the grandkids can play on it.

Pick up is over - but you have a couple days left to drop leaves off at DPW.  They're only open until 3pm during the week.

I’d like to make it clear that the section of the yard that’s  ‘gone to seed/weed’ is green and all mowed to the same height as the grass…

Also most of the yard is behind hedges - just saying

Not sure if global warming or types of trees around my house but leaf pick up ends too early  oh oh it should go into April.

It was a problem for those of us in zones 1, 2, and 3.  Those whose last pick-up came early in the pick-up week had their final pick-up nearly two weeks sooner than those in zones 4,5, and 6 who got their leaves picked up at the end of the final pick-up week.

I have a tree in my yard that seems to grow dead leaves all winter. It’s still full of dead leaves as I type this.

The town is not picking up any more leaves until next fall.  If the tree has not dropped any leaves this season, I would suggest checking to make sure the tree is not dead.

it’s not dead, just on its own crazy schedule.
