Experience with FLES Language program?

My third grader got a flyer about this program at CHSand I have been looking for more info without avail. Does anyone have experience with it (good/bad/indifferent)? How long is it? How much do the students get out of it?

No first-hand experience, but I've always heard great things.

I started learning French in FLES in Cleveland Heights. Ohio in 1960 in fourth grade. I am fluent to this day! Do it!

My info is based on observation only. The program runs weekly from mid October through early April. It lasts about 45 mins each week. If the children are enthusiastic and willing to learn, they'll get a lot out if it.

It is a fun way for the kids who participate to get some VERY basic foreign language skills. It is a great program for CHS students to build upon their foreign language skills by working with young children.

My kids have done it. They enjoyed it. The instruction is basic but it's a chance to get some foreign language experience before the elementary schools offer it.

It's usually based on a conversational technique. I kept up with the language through high school and college. It was a great experience.

My son took Latin last year and really enjoyed it. He thought it was cool to go to the high school. It was easy to drop him off and pick him up from there. At the end of the program, they had a reception and each group performed. My son's group wore togas and sang "Let it Go" in Latin.
