ERITREAN STUDENT IN NEED OF FURNITURE.

My husband, volunteers with the NJ Literacy Program and works with a very young Eritrean man who escaped the horrors of his country. After a 2 year trek he made his way to the US seeking asylum.

Working 3 jobs and attending Essex County Community College, he has just moved into a small studio in E. Orange but is in need of furniture.  A bed frame, small table with 2 chairs, a lamp, a night side table, dishes and silverware would be greatly appreciated.

If you can help by donating any of the above items, my husband will pick up and deliver them.

Thank you!

Carrie Wells

I have many of these items.

If people don't have items to donate, but would like to help, check out Unique thrift store to buy something...some things are junky..it is hit or miss...but you might find something useful..dishes and silverware are usually okay, wood chairs are usually good...I would not buy anything electric like a lamp second hand....at least if it comes from your home you know the condition....i think they have gift cards, but he may not be able to get there from east orange.

Also you should ask on the SOMA Swap FB group if you haven't already.

Carrie:

If you go to the top of your screen, just the right of the search box, you will see the word "messages" with a small box next to it.  If the small box has a number other than zero in it, you have messages (PMs).  Click on the word messages and you will get a screen in which each of these messages is displayed.
