Empire Carpets vs Home Depot? Which is better?

has anyone used Empire Carpets? Looking for most economicaL way to have some wall to wall carpeting installed. Their ads are pretty convincing....

I've heard bad things. Try Costco or Carpet Mill on Route 10. They have remnants and are pretty reasonable when we used them many years ago.

I've also heard/read bad things about Empire.

Twice had good experience with HD including their installers, -once in Red Bank and once here.

we used empire when we re- carpeted our second floor.  the carpet and installation are fine.  they have a lot of gimmicky pricing so you should have a good idea of a cost comparison.  this was at least 5 years ago-everything is still in good condition.

When we got prices for carpeting, Empire was the most expensive even with their "50%" off.  Home Depot was the least expensive and that is who we used.  We also got pricing from the carpet store on 22 East that is near Target.  their prices were similar to Home Depot but they had a very small selection.

Another vote for Carpet Mill on Route 10. http://www.ecarpetmill.com/ They are reasonable and pleasant to deal with.  They install wall to wall - not limited to remnants.  And you get to support small business.

I used Home Depot for my office. Wall to wall. the office is small but the job they did is fine.

HD did 3 bedrooms and 2 halls with carpet for me, excellent all, around.

Good friend locally used Empire for large basement remodel, mix of hardwood and carpet - looks great.  Ex-wife redid whole condo using Empire - great work, but she had problems with their financing.
