DVR question: Is it possible to . .. ?

I have FIOS + a smart TV. I can view Amazon Prime and Netflix shows. But is it possible to DVR them, either individually or as a series?

Why DVR them? Just log in and play them again...

We have a multi-room DVR. Our other TV is not a smart TV. If we could DVR the show, we could watch on the non-smart TV. Otherwise, we can't.

I don't believe that is possible. The FiOS content goes through your DVR before it gets to the TV. Smart TV features don't go through the DVR.

It would probably be cheapest and easiest to buy a Roku box for your un-smart TV

Thanks for the input. Yes, I guess Roku or Chromecast would be the alternatives.

Thread drift: I'm getting a TV for the living room but don't want to pay for a third cable box. If I got Roku or Chromecast, what would I be able to view? Any network/basic cable channels? Thanks in advance.

We recently bought the Amazon FireStick and love it. About $35. Took two minutes to set up. I am surprised you can still get Amazon on your smart TV. I thought Amazon removed it's app from smart TVs after it came out with the FireStick because it wants you to buy the FireStick. We used to be able to get it on our smart TV, but then it went away, which is what prompted us to buy the FireStick.

FYI, you can purchase a relatively cheap (under $80) smart DVD player with WiFi for your dumb TV, thereby making it smart(er) and able to access Amazon, Netflix etc.

After being dissatisfied with my research on Roku and Chromecast, I am now looking at the Amazon FireStick -- the new ones come with Alexa so I can just tell it what I want and it'll find it (like my current Xfinity remote). I'm going to try this out and see how I do the next 5 months, when my Comcast 2-year deal is up. I'm hoping I can replace all the channels I view now on Comcast via the FireStick. (Someone on the Amazon page said to get a TiVo -- I didn't know they still made them -- and Playstation Vue.)

Wow, amazingly cheap. Good suggestion. Tx.

We have access to Amazon via Amazon Prime, which I guess is what lets us get it via our Sony TV.

Amazon can't care much about how you watch their stuff. The sale of the gadgets isn't a big deal.
