Dumster Rental vs. Junk Removal archived

I have rented several dumpsters in the past five years. Easy, but they take up space in your driveway, sometimes leave a mark, and it's worth shopping around because pricing is all over the place.

10 CFT = just over 1/3 cubic yard, so assume that you meam 10 cubic yard dumpster.

Unless you pack it VERY carefully, a 10 cubic yard dumpster does not hold much.

You can get a price on Waste Mangement web site.

Many companies will give you a 10 or 20 yard can for the same price. They charge a drop off fee and then by the ton for waste, so size is less important to them.

What about one of those bag things? I know nothing about them, but if you only have a small amount of stuff that might be the way to go.

Bagster. Around 30$ to buy plus like 100$ to get it hauled away.

Junk removal company is the way to go.


Sort out what you want to discard and they do the work... not you.

^^^this. We just did it. A dumpster is far less $ than junk removal company. And those bag things are a joke. Tiny.

bagster is $200 including the bag, you can only fit about 3 yards in it, if you're a good packer. I had gregg's cleanouts take 20 yards of all sorts of stuff for $750 - it was already outside.

I use Dave Burrell, I always find him cheaper than the alternatives. If you have oversized items, his guys will haul them (refridgerator, freezer, etc). Great guy.

I used a company called V&M Waste Services, the gentleman name Mike came very quick and great price. He brought a dump trailer the size of a 10 yard dumpster so it did not damage my driveway. So far i have used him three times in the past year for a dumpster rental and regular junk pick up.
