They are all over New Jersey. There was a big story on the Today Show this morning. Authorities allegedly don't know anything (bullsh#t).
I have to imagine, given our proximity to Newark Airport, that somebody knows something.
I’ve been following the reports with some interest. It’s fascinating to see the genuine article.
I thought I heard that they were as large as cars? Is that true or did I mis-hear?

Yes. I started a thread on All Politics. My friend in Milburn posted about seeing one a couple of weeks ago, They called the police and as more calls came in they were told to call the FB so we posted the number. Other FB friends spotted them and then I saw it on News 12, and all the mayors complaining to the Gov. Now the White House is supposed to address the issue. I heard more than once that they are the size of a small car.

Anyway, I use an app called FlightRadar24 that shows all the commercial and private air traffic. This aircraft did not appear.
FR24 doesn't show every aircraft. It depends whether the plane in question has its transponder switched on and assuming adequate ground receiver coverage in the FR24 system. (Highly unlikely in your part of the world)
From poster CG on this thread - https://www.quora.com/Why-do-planes-disappear-on-Flightradar24
FlightRadar24 primarily uses uses a technology called ADS-B to operate. They use a giant web of user-based ADS-B receivers that stream data collected to them 24/7. They triangulate the data between multiple receivers to make sure the position of the aircrafts are most accurately displayed. I have set up one of these receivers, and it live streams the data to FR24 and better improves the coverage and accuracy in my area.
The reasons that some planes disappear can differ from plane to plane. GA, or General Aviation aircraft are often not even displayed, as rules surrounding ADS-B Transponders on those planes are different. When the signal is received, it is very often filtered out as FR24’s main focus is Commercial Aviation. Same goes for business or private jets, as the signal can be masked for privacy reasons.
Those planes may briefly show up, but often have patchy or not 100% reliable transponders so they may cut in and out from the radar.
Another reason is due to MLAT Data, or the ADS-B Triangulation. Like I said earlier, they combine the data from multiple receivers to most accurately display the data of the plane’s location. If this cannot be done to the best of its ability, say only one receiver is picking up the plane, it may not be displayed any longer on the website.
Also, when planes switch from MLAT tracking to ADS-B or reverse they will often cut in and out or disappear for a few seconds, as it cannot be 100% accurate.
In areas where there is poor coverage of both MLAT and ADS-B, the planes will not show up.
The third reason could be that the transponder has been shut off. Military, although not always displayed on FR24, sometimes shows up. The odd fighter jet and many transport aircraft show up, as they are publicly displaying their ADS-B signal. You rarely see planes such as F-22s or Bombers on the radar as they are meant to be stealthier and therefore don’t have receiver on (would defeat the purpose of stealthiness if some dude in his basement could track it on a $30 raspberry pi). Due to this, Military that is displayed may cut in and out, or disappear entirely.
The last reason that planes disappear is because they have manually shut off either the transponder or the Aircraft.
been seeing them every night since well before november. actually theyve stopped for the past week or so since all the hubbub. doubtful theyre aliens unless our friends from alpha centauri are nice enough to follow FAA collision light regulations.
I've been hearing about these drones for over a month. When my colleague first told me about them hovering in the area, I told her to stop getting her news from TikTok. I work in Florham Park and colleagues of mine said they saw them hovering over the office and around the area. Just last night, I saw many drones around the MW Country Club Golf Course. All different sizes, some looking like miniature airplanes. They were also all-around South Orange last night as well. So cool. I'm into it.
I'm pleased that NJ has finally been discovered, but mixed feelings about the discovery made by aliens from outer space. Considering that they've been hovering over the Maplewood Country Club, I wonder how it will affect the real estate market if they decide they want to settle down here and join the club? I assume they will be able to pay $1 million to Trump to quickly get a green card and citizenship, or at least get a Genius Visa as Melania did.
All I know is that as soon as I get my drone for Xmas, they’ll have moved on somewhere else and it’ll never have any friends.
I’m always droning among friends. Those who don’t nod off end up leaving anyway.

They were seen last night by a friend who lives near Tuscan school (from her home.)
Comment on above. The plot thickens. @JerseyFutures seems to have started quite the theory and then was deleted.
Hello…. Hello… is there anybody out there?
Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home?"

We can't hear you. The noise overhead is deafening.

It’s amazing to me that the gov’ts response is “we don’t know what’s going on” A unidentified person can be tracked from Rockefeller Center to PA but multiple car sized drones origins are a mystery? The people who know are just not telling…

the most likely thing going on is mass hysteria.
remember that 99% of people have little experience examining the sky at night. they can't judge the size of aircraft, especially at night. they mistake constellations for drones. they mistake planes for drones.
are there drones flying around at night? undoubtedly. You know why? It's because NJ has some of the least restrictive drone regulations in the country. they officially encourage drone usage.
Trump chimed in. He said the government is not telling us the truth about the drones, but refused to answer a question about what they might have told him.
I have been to places near an airport where on a clear night you can see airplanes from miles away. And if they are heading toward you, they seem to be almost hovering. (think parallax.) From my backyard, on a clear night, I can sometimes see six or more planes at a time either coming or going to Newark or Teterboro. Much of North Jersey is on the flight path of planes going to Newark or Teterboro. I think this is what most people are seeing. Also, helicopters can hover, but they make a lot of noise. Planes also use the coast as a flight path.
The Federal Govt said that most drone sightings are manned aircraft. (You or me flying on a commercial airline into Newark.) So, why are the Feds disregarded in their explanation? I think it is both a sign of times as good conspiracy theories are fun and exciting, and there is also a political component as our Chief Conspiracy Contingent gets active and wants to shoot them down. I hope I am not on the plane that they start shooting at.
Isn’t Amazon now trialling delivery by drones?

It's most likely US military. They don't have to inform the FBI or the media. This also explains why no actions are taken when the drones fly over military areas.

I’ve heard that, but not sure they have started using the drone ships yet. I’m pretty sure China is using drones for deliveries in rural areas. So it’s probably going to be more sightings of unidentified flying objects in the skies of the future.
I actually saw a couple. I got a video on my phone but it’s pretty hard to see anything.
Anyway, I use an app called FlightRadar24 that shows all the commercial and private air traffic. This aircraft did not appear. There was another one, or maybe the same one, a few minutes earlier.
