Donations Needed! Mothers and More Diaper Drive! April 6-May 31

Mothers and More is having a diaper drive! Low-income families are forced to reuse soiled diapers, or choose between diapers and food, because diapers are not covered by WIC. Every diaper (and dollar) we donate directly helps a family in need.

Donation boxes will be put in place this weekend! Start gathering up those loose diapers and consider buying a new box for this very worthy cause.

And many thanks to our wonderful local businesses for hosting boxes:
Munchies on Irvington Ave in South Orange
UPS Store on South Orange Ave in South Orange
The Rack on Springfield Ave in Maplewood
Village Coffee on Maplewood Ave in Maplewood

I just placed the box at the UPS Store and we had already gotten our first donation! Amazing! Thank you to George for his donation to the cause as well. Hurrah!!!!

The box is in place at Munchies as well. The Rack and Village Coffee are still in progress.

I have a sample pack of Similac that I'm not using. I know it's not diapers, but do you think they would accept it?

FYI there were some diapers on clearance at Target in various sizes. Got a large box for $20.

@annemarie, as usual larger sizes are the most needed ones, correct?

Yes, larger sizes and Pull-Ups!

@wallflower, they'll take it! Just leave it in a box (or you can drop at my house)

Great! I'll get it to you this week!

If you see any deals on diapers this weekend, please consider donating for the Mothers & More Diaper Drive. Donations are being collected at:

Munchies on Irvington Ave in South Orange
UPS Store on South Orange Ave in South Orange
The Rack on Springfield Ave in Maplewood
Village Coffee on Maplewood Ave in Maplewood

Larger sizes and pull-ups are especially appreciated.

I purchased an extra box while getting ours this weekend and a neighbor gave me a good amount of diapers her baby outgrew. Do you prefer I drop them off at one of the drop boxes or your house? (figured I may just lighten a trip a little bit).

@pmartinezv truly, whatever is most convenient for you!

I have to get in the car, drive and park either way cheese. If you don't mind sending me your address I can leave them at your door over the weekend while running errands.
Also do we get receipts this year? Just wondering. Thanks!

@annemarie , can you use coupons for diapers/baby items as well? I don't have kids, but I can print out coupons for diapers when I print my regular coupons.

@suzanneng that would be great!

@pmartinezv will do. Send me your email address and I will send you a receipt.

Also if anyone wants to give of their time, I need help hanging posters in local businesses!

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. Keep 'em coming!

I have lots of extra pullups but they're not in a box (they were opened). Is it ok if I just put them in a bag?

A bag is great! @sommerj

I just checked on the box in the UPS Store and it's almost full! But don't worry! It comes with free refills. I'll be emptying it this weekend, so let's refill it.

It has also been joined by a prom dress drive, so if you have any gently used prom-style dresses, consider donating them as well (I'm not affiliated with the prom dress drive, just trying to spread the word).

annemarie, time for a pickup.

MOL's keep them coming in.  Note the Wipes, nice touch!!!!

Awesome!!!! I'll be by in the morning. If anyone needs a receipt, email me through the address on the poster. Or PM me.

There's still plenty of time to donate!

@Annemarie, time for another pickup. The box is full and I have a floor stack started.

Oh and, can you ask for me when you come in. I wanted to ask you a question about something we have in common.

And I can not find PM on this new system.

Thanx, George

Great! The drive ends June 1, so I will be by Sunday for the final pickup. Amazzzzzaazing!

We collected 7,700 diapers for Sierra House and Isaiah House. We were at Sierra House this morning and they are truly doing amazing work there. Consider supporting them in any way you can.

Thank you to George from The UPS Store, Reid and Sophia from Munchie's, and the fine folks at The Rack and Village Coffee for being public donation spots, and to South Mountain YMCA and Village Babies for being our preschool locations!

Amazing stuff, people!
