Dog licensing

After digging all over the South Orange website, I finally found a dog licensing form, but no discussion of licensing for our new dog.

I'm assuming that the Village does still require licensing, so will fill it out and send a check. Can anyone tell me if the license covers a specific calendar year, if there is a part year charge for licensing mid-year, or if the Village will send renewal reminders rather than needing me to keep track?

(asking here first, in case the answer is that no one actually bothers....)

I live in West Orange but I can go to the website and find anything....

If it's the same as West Orange the renewal is at the beginning of the year. You pay for the year regardless of when you get the license.

Yes, I found (and filled out) the form, but it seems to be missing some information, which is nowhere else on the Village Website.

The SO dog license is for the calendar year. We moved here from the city in August a few years ago, where licensing is for a 12 month period. Assuming it was the same I sent in my paperwork and check, and the town kindly returned it all to me, saying I should save my money and just wait until the new year. YMMV but I recall thinking how friendly that was!
