Disposing of your youth............Basketball and some Baseball cards

There are two prime laws to the universe.........1.  Don't eat yellow snow

2.Always take an add out on MOL for a commercial venture

However this is a request for information not a sales pitch

A friend of mine is consolidating his holdings and needs space

He has hundreds of basketball cards and some baseball cards

He wants to see them find a good home with just a small amount of renumeration for himself

Does anyone know a nearby collector or shop where he might divest of his collection

No websites please as the size of the collection makes that route impossible

I would separate the 10 or so best rookie cards or whatever might be valuable.

Give the rest to the library to set out as free.

The heyday of sports cards was the early 1990's. After that, the card manufacturers flooded the market to the point where most collectors lost interest. I haven't seen ads for card shows in a few years.

Think you are right.  We were coming back from some where or other.  Stopped at a large indoor flea market in Maryland.  I noticed a dealer spreading his wares among a few display cases.  I asked him the possible value of a few cards my late uncle had left me.  He said they make great book markers but there really is not much of a market in terms of selling them

Some rookie cards still hold value. M.M., Jordan and so forth. The rest, not so much.
