Has Luna Stella reopened?

 It's under T - The Able Baker

Noy sure about Luna - thought I heard it was open - but obviously - they need to take down the note from their homepage:

Due to the labor shortage that has so severely affected the restaurant industry and many others, we are choosing to *temporarily* close our doors to re-staff. We’ve been pushing along and making it work with what we have, but have come to the conclusion that in order to serve the community in the way we want and provide the level of quality and service that we see fit, we need to take the time to re-staff.
We’re thankful for your support and patience and look forward to having you all in soon!

Any word on Tandoori Chef II?

 yup.

Any artichoke fans out there? Chutzpah’s are amazing.

When I'm in the mood for veggies, my go-to's are:

  • Ani Ramen: Tofu bao buns (Tofu, shredded cabbage, pickled cucumber, spicy miso mayo)
  • Coda: Cauliflower Heart (Sauteed greens, quinoa, tomatoes, cranberry glaze, butternut squash risotto, and I ask for without the shiitake mushrooms.)
  • Wild Ginger: Pad See Ew with tofu (flat wide noodles with egg, carrots, onions, sweet peas and I ask for without mushrooms).
  • Chutzpah: Perogies and/or Falafel bowl.

Now I'm hungry...

Yes, but the website said that they hoped to be up and running by 11/5.

Why are you limiting this thread to the village only?

That’s quite an impressive list.

When we’re in town,

We enjoy Coda quite a bit. Food is always very good as are the beer choices.

I love the veggie tacos at Coda. Very satisfying, and I am not even a vegetarian.

Can we add Picketts Village Bar to the list?

Please think about how we behave in these establishments, particularly with staff. My high school age daughter recently began working as a hostess at a Maplewood joint. After each shift she hits me with stories of customer behavior. She appreciates kindness so much - just please and thank you is enough to brighten her day. The rude folk are, of course, quite the opposite. Yelling at a hostess for a slow order on a busy af Friday is a d-bag move, Brett. Calling back later for a refund for something you didn't order is also quite poor.

PARKWOOD DINER

Is our fave in Mwood.

why? It’s a diner. Nothing special at all about it. As a matter of fact last time I was there I asked them for fruit instead of hashbrowns with my eggs, and they said no they don’t do that.

The Park Wood is the best restaurant in America, and I will hear no more debate on this matter.

Parkwood has Thanksgiving dinners to-go available for Thursday. It's hot when you pick it up. It worked great for us last year when we had a small family gathering at home, and we just cooked a few of our favorite homemade sides. So easy, and their turkey was so moist -- kinda liked it better than when I cook it myself. I don't know if there are other places that do this.

Ani Ramen. We really like it but can't go inside. Acoustics are bad and the radio is too loud to carry on a conversation.

We went several times when it was outdoor..... enjoyed that. Now we are just restricted to take out.

Regarding Ani Ramen, same feeling As you have. Food is outstanding but the eat in option isn’t for us.

Ate at the Park Wood this morning, and the menu says fruit salad can be substituted for potatoes for $2. Things change, I guess.

Finally got around to trying the falafel at Chutzpah - really good!  I will be back.

yes. Surprised more posters haven’t mentioned it since it opened.

N&K Prime is not a restaurant. It's a butcher shop and grocery. Best meats in the area. And any variety of their lamb sausages are terrific. The merguez are my favorite.

Had a wonderful meal at Lorena’s Friday night. Service is top notch and our meal was wonderful.
i know this might sound ridiculous to some but I wish there were more nice places to dine in. We venture to Millburn and Montclair but would love to just walk downtown.

I'm usually not a big fan of falafel -- but I really like the ones from Chutzpah.

For my winter colds, I tend to get chicken soup from Cactus Charly.

I realize I forgot to include their Jersey Burrito (avocado) in my list of my favorite veggie dishes from Maplewood Village. Strangely, I don't see it listed on their online menu.

We’re fans of their cactus salad.
