I was also surprised to learn that Independence Day is celebrated from mid-June until early Sept around these parts. When in Rome I guess.

Sorry ... it just struck me since I (and probably a lot of us) were pretty isolated by the circumstances yesterday. I doubt that a post of "no" would have done anything for the conversation anyway.

Any word on what transpired?

Power was out in the area - betting it was the transformer going out. PSE&G fixed in a couple of hours.
