Deafening silence on deafening silence

Alright, I've had it.  One more "deafening silence" thread title, and my head is going to explode.  Which will force me to start another "head explodes" thread.

Who do we blame for this cockroach-like infestation of our thread titles.  I think it was Sbenois who began this regrettable trend several years ago.  I'm going to get back at him by going over to his house and being deafeningly silent.

Maybe we could get Dave/Jamie/Pavel to add "Deafening Silence" to the list of words that gets "bleeped" with asterisks on the board (?)

Or, if you like, I will be glad to drop off some lovely baked goods that I will make in his honor  cheese

Bad news for libs: Deafening silence threads are here to stay.

Liberal heads explode

Or maybe it should just be a whole new (secret) category?

*emoticon*

I've just learned to tune out the deafening silence.

I don't really care who started it, but why, oh why, do so many people have to follow the revolting trend with sheeplike lack of originality?

It's just unnerving when there's a huge event, such as the Baltimore protests, and no one us commenting on it, while the "Rose Garden" thread, et al just go on and on ad nauseum. Doesn't anyone on MOL care about major world events enough to.discuss them? Hello Hyacinth?

So start a thread with a title like, "civil unrest in Baltimore."

Ha!

 Seriously.

How about, "Does anyone have any thoughts on....?". Or "has anyone seen a thread on.....?"
