Day trip to Asbury Park

We are thinking about checking this one out. How does it compare to Long Branch? I'm still not sure of the different personalities of the beaches.

Asbury Park has really been revived. If you like a wide sandy beach and great boardwalk with good restaurants then you will enjoy. You can walk the boardwalk all the way to Spring Lake. Next door Ocean Crove is delightful.

Mogo has a stand on the boardwalk serving Korean tacos. Delicious, especially the pork. Days Ice Cream is really good too.

Tip: Parking on Ocean Ave is $2 an hour. Off of Ocean is just $1 an hour.

Do it. Asbury Park is great ... As everyone's mentioned, lot of nice dining choices ... Nice vibe.

You can park in Ocean Grove for free and walk over to Asbury Park. Ocean Grove also has a vibrant downtown area worth checking out. The whole area is walkable.

The Cookman Ave in Asbury Park has excellent restaurants.

Asbury is our favorite! Cheap tags (plus kids free), never really have a problem parking on the street (reasonably priced a away from main drag - free if ya want to walk a few blocks), love the vibe. Porta is quite good. A block from the beach. Get the 'lemon preservation society' pie and a giant salad to share. Deelish!
