My wife and I spent a weekend there last fall and had a great time, but we took advantage of the spa and golf. I believe they have a good number of kid-friendly activities too, including an indoor and outdoor pool. Have fun!
Crystal Springs is the slightly more upscale cousin of Minerals in Vernon, which I use as my winter health club because of its indoor pool. That one is certainly family friendly, so in all likelihood Crystal Springs is too. BUT: Take a look at online reviews. They are very mixed. My neighbors and I would not consider it vacation resort, and I think the people who really like it in that capacity may have relativey little experience with that kind of vacation. Aside from a large indoor pool, it is not exciting. The really great reviews tend to have a canned quality. Look for the more nuanced ones to see if it would work for you.
You mention a maximum five-hour drive but the thread is titled with "weekday." I am interpreting that to mean that you would spend a night or two at least at the resort, but that it would be during the week. wherever you go, make sure activities for kids are being run on weekdays, not just weekends and holidays.
You might look a bit farther afield for places like the Sagamore at Lake George, or full-service resorts in southern New England or the Massachusetts coast. We stayed in a condo in New Seabury, right at the beginning of Cape Cod, many years ago with two children and loved it; we had access to both pool and beach, and a very nice place to stay overall Or drive farther and try a place like Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine (I know it is more than five hours, but maybe worth it). We stayed there once with our children and it was lovely and offered plenty to do because that part of the coast is really geared to tourists. Lake Champlain isn't all that far either if you take the Northway. Burlington is lively, and the lake is beautiful. I think there are family-friendly resorts there too. (Button Bay or something like that?) Or, closer, what about Hershey, PA, which would combine resort hotel with amusement park?
If the kids are the primary focus, maybe try Camelback resort or the newer Kalahari resort in the Poconos. Or maybe Hershey Park. Crystal Springs doesn't scream kids place' to me. More of a spa/gold destination as others have said.

Hi all!
We are thinking of taking the family to crystal springs resort in Hamburg, NJ. Have you or anyone you know been to the resort? Is it kid-friendly? We have two young boys who need a lot of entertaining
if you have any other suggestions I would appreciate it. They love the water, so a pool, lake or beach area would Be perfect that is within a 5hr drive max. No water park suggestions please. They have been twice already This summer.
Thanks in advance!
