Crate & Barrel Furniture

I am looking to buy a sofa and a couple of chairs. Saw some nice pieces at Crate & Barrel at MASH. Anyone have experience with this store? Reliability and quality? Will they negotiate price? TIA.

I have had several pieces of Crate and Barrel furniture and they've held up really well.  Finally replacing a sofa we've had for 17 years - the new one is due to be delivered in the next couple of weeks.  No idea about negotiating price, would never occur to me to ask (do stores really do that?).  But, I did purchase my sofa during their yearly upholstery sale - I think it was 20% off?  Can't remember, but it runs annually in September…

I bought an Axis sectional there maybe 13 years ago. It's a marvel. Has stood up to three cats, two kids and many overnight guests. And, we have no immediate plans to replace it. It's one of the best furniture investments I've ever made.

As for price negotiation, like sunnybrook, it would never occur to me to negotiate on price. Given this is a major furniture retailer, I doubt that managers have much flexibility on price, unless the item is damaged.

Crate and Barrel has an outlet in Cranberry NJ if you don't mind floor models and obviously limited selection to what they have on hand. You can save hundreds on a minor scratch.

They do have two lines though the normal Crate and Barrel is very good quality and heavy solid wood the other line for their C2 stores I think they were called what Shtickhaus or something and was more like IKEA + and not worth it in my opinion.

Quality is high. Sofas can take a VERY long time to be delivered after purchase, like months. I suspect you'll get laughed at if you try to negotiate, but if you don't mind the awkwardness and salesperson scorn, can't hurt to try. You never know.

we have had ours about 10 yrs ( sofa) and it's extremely comfortable and has held up very well. Looks and feels like new. They don't "negotiate" but do have a sale a few times per year. Ask and maybe they'll let you pre- order at the sale price ( usually 10 or 15% off) . Ask about opening a cc as well. I think there may have been q diacount or at least 0% financing for a year.

They stand behind their products.  We had a sofa that popped a spring about 7 years into ownership - they came out and repaired it but it didn't hold and so they gave us a credit for the full price we paid less 10 or 20% for use (I can't remember) and we were able to buy a new sofa for basically nothing (the first one was a custom upholstery - the second a stock piece).  My dining room set is also from them and it looks as good now as it did when we bought it about 14 years ago.

Good experience with their furniture. Only reason I got rid of my favorite red chair and ottoman I got there years ago is that I put them in a sunroom and the color faded. Other piece is a great wooden glass front cabinet which still looks great. Solid stuff.

Hope you remember what you ordered!

We have three beautiful tables from C&B, the oldest is well over 20+ old and in excellent condition. We also have a few oversized chairs that are in tip top shape. If you catch a sale, you'll do well. Great store.

Our C&B sectional looks new after 3 kids, dog, cat, and three moves. Great purchase, much beloved.

I have a 10% off online coupon code that expires 11/21 that I won't be using.  PM me if you're interested.
