Mark Persaud of Mark Persaud Home Improvements (he's local in Maplewood) 973-698-1447. He's going away for a long weekend (Friday-Monday) so IF he doesn't call you back right away (depending on when you call him), that's why. He's done so many things in my house, including updating my kitchen and totally renovating my master bathroom.

Someone is sure to list the other people usually recommended on MOL, but I use Mark exclusively. Good luck!

^^^ Mark for sure. He did work for us this spring, found some surprises, dealt with it all. He is calm, knowledgable,responds to calls and emails very quickly. A big shout out to his crew, we saw most of them, depending on what particular work they were doing each day. We did our research, could not believe the amazing reviews he got on MOL (and BBB), but now we know why.

I would be happy enough with the ones who return calls, even happier, if they were to show up for the appointments they make. No matter how you slice it, I'd consider it lack of good business etiquette. All it takes is a phone call to let me know that "something or another came up".

Rick Hoyas has done really great work for us, is very nice and easy to work with, and is also super duper responsive -- he works well with text, phone, and email.
