Am I reading this correctly? That she'll compete again at 11am, and if she keeps winning, will go at 12, 12:40, 4pm, and 5:45 today? (Per http://static.fie.org/uploads/10/50541-SF.pdf). Good luck, Ibtihaj Muhammad!!!
Vivaldo that's how it works. Unfortunately she was eliminated in the round of 16.
I watched the match on the NBC app. No commentary, just a live video and audio feed.
At one point she seemed very frustrated with something going on with the equipment, or maybe the judging. She came out strong but her opponent registered a bunch of unanswered touches in the middle of the match.
Saw the first match at the NJFA. Great experience. Learned a lot about fencing which made watching the matches much more enjoyable. Sorry she lost her second match.
She also competes in the team event on Saturday.
It always amazes me the speed of the matches and each individual touch. It's blindingly fast and each touch usually takes just a few secobds.
I don't know what the expectations for team USA were going in. The women's team did wellast in sabre in 2008 but that's the one standout performance for the USA I can see.
I know I would have loved to see her medal but I'm excited to have seen her perform at the Olympic level.
Will NJFA be doing another community viewing for Saturday's team event? Today's event sounded great, but everyone in my family already had plans.
Too bad Ibtihaj Muhammad did not advance farther in the individual event, but she has represented her country and our area tremendously well. Congratulations to her, her family and her team!!

Frank said they would be having an open house for the viewing on Saturday but did not yet know what time(s) the US Team would be competing.
