Collecting Baby Carriers and Children Winter Outerwear for Syrian Refugees

A friend of mine formerly from Croatia, and at one point a refugee that was denied asylum in Germany during the Balkan war, has created a group called Carry Me Home to assist local volunteers in Serbia and Croatia from here. Vedrana is located in New Hampshire (border with Vermont), but I am working with her locally here in Maplewood. We are collecting the following items to be shipped to local on the ground volunteers. These are unpaid local individuals on the Balkan group who have organized themselves under the group Are you Syrious and are providing support to those traveling across their country.

We are collecting winter outerwear for children, babies, toddlers. In particular buntings, warm coats, lined pants or waist height snow pants (no bibs please as they are too hard for children to go to the restroom under the circumstances), snow boots, gloves, hats, scarfs. We are also collecting small toys, such as toy cars, and small stuff animals (no more than 9" or so). We are also collecting baby carriers of any kind. These are in great demand as there are many babies who are not yet walking (1 in 3 refugees is a child).

If you are interesting in helping out please contact me and I can either pick up or provide you with an address for drop off.
For more details on the local group and the local group of volunteers if you have Facebook, please visit https://www.facebook.com/CarryMeHomeWithLove/?fref=photo and https://www.facebook.com/areyousyrious/

We have sent 3 shipments thus far. Photos of the last shipment were just posted. We have also been posted photos of all the generous donations we have received locally here in NJ as well as NH/VT.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks!
