well, he was super nervous and not all that funny. Had some good, tough digs but he didn't land them well. Let's see once he loosens up a bit and gets in his groove
it wasn't at a Chris Rock level. He had a few good ones but he was so nervous and uncomfortable, his timing and delivery was way off.
Rock, rocked it! I thought his delivery was on point and he addressed the controversy well.
on another note, what on earth is the costume design winner wearing?!?!
I thought it was amusing, somewhat gentle, and poked fun at why the whole issue is suddenly in the foreground after all these years, in addition to the unfairness. It wasn't the totally outrageous level that Chris Rick can get to, but it was uncontroversial and mildly humorous.
He did a great job, IMO. Made the point that everyone in the audience seemed to agree with.
Chris rock sending his daughters (and friends?) out into the audience to sell Girl Scout cookies. So edgy...
They were mocking the Academy and Hollywood.

Well, they were trying to. It fell a bit flat and she seemed rather lost up there.
I like the Mark Rylance win. He was mesmerizing in Bridge of Spies
and definitely one of the most boring academy awards I've ever watched.

Generally, I find most Oscars award shows boring after the first 15 minutes. I tend to tune out/channel surf until the last 15 min with the big awards are announced.

Lady Gaga just destroyed it up there.
Terrible song, great performance. Moving with all the victims.
I understand you want the stars front and center but did they have to put Ennio Moriconi so far away? He's an old man with difficilty walking. Geesh.
Ok so I actually Googled merkin. Kinda wished I hadn't.
And what's with the Kohls commercials? There's another thread here saying they are closing dozens of stores but they are all over the oscars
Happening soon, 8:30 p.m.?
