Tips on the best Chinese within 15-20 mins of MSO?  Not a fan of any of the places in Maplewood

China Chalet in Florham Park or T S Ma in Upper Montclair.

Maybe the Bumpus dogs got his turkey. 

We like Jade Lake but I don't know if that falls under your Maplewood exclusion zone.

Second the recommendation for China Chalet.  I don't think they take reservations so plan on going early since they do get busy on December 25th. 

You can get into the city in not much more than 20 minutes on Christmas Day...

If you're interested in Dim Sum, try Dim Sum Villa on Springfield in New Providence.  Its almost like going to Chinatown in NJ.

I forgot to mention Mr. Chu's on Rt 10 East Hanover;

Hunan Spring on Morris Avenue in Springfield is very good

Can't help you if the cuisine has to be Chinese but if it helps Padang, Tandoori Chef and in Livingston The Ritz will all be open today...

I just got back from there. We went based on the recommendations here on MOL. The service was terrible and the food was only okay. I'm seriously missing something. 

China Gourmet, in West Orange, has dim sum brunch on weekends.  Great food, good service, nice people.
