Certain keys no longer working on Mac keyboard

My B key and several other keys no longer work on my Mac keyboard. It's an older model with the big white keys. I removed the keys and cleaned everything with cotton swabs and alcohol, but no luck. Anything else to try. Hm, question mark key also quit working. Or is it time for a new keyboard.

Bumping to get into Recently Updated view.

Been there done that only with a PC.  It will only get worse.   New keyboard cost under $20.00 over the internet.  Friend installed it in 20  minutes.

Strange thing was that my less commonly used keys like X were the first to go bad.

20 minutes? Normally, you just plug it in and use it.

I've had Mac keyboards wear out, and I was never able to repair them. Just replace yours.

I go through Mac keyboards pretty regularly and it sounds like yours is shot. Time for a new one.

Somebody here suggested running it through the dishwasher, keys down. I can't vouch for that tactic myself, but if you have nothing to lose:

Thanks. On my way to Best Buy.

Tom R..............well he did take my computer into his apartment for whatever he did.  Maybe he had a beer or two before

returning  it.

Don't own a Mac: but...

A blast of canned air from time-to-time helps my keyboard.

And of course, if you think it's toast; the fresh water spray (moderate pressure) and no-heat blow dry, can't do any harm.

Beat of luck with the keyboard; be well and do good

My MacBook Pro laptop has an "o" key that stops working every month or two, for most of the day, then it returns.  I usually just copy an "o" from an existing document and then paste whenever I need it, but it's pretty annoying.  It's the only time I've ever liked autocorrect.

My time is worth not having to make such compensations. A Mac-layout keyboard is more expensive, but waddya gonna do.
