NEVER put sneaks in the dryer!!!! The banging around can cause "dust" "lint" to dislodge inside the machine and can possibly start a FIRE!!! Been there, done that!!!! (stupid me!!)
When I was young, my mother insisted on cleaning my sneakers. Unfortunately after the cleaning, the sneaks would turn gummy and fall apart. What she didn't realize was that the bleach she was using so proudly disolved the rubber.
Moral of the story: Be extra careful with bleach. I will not use it on socks and underwear which has rubberized fabric. Matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I bleached anything.
yeah i'd put them in a gentle wash (little agitation) and pre-soak in a bucket or in your washer if it has the option, no drying, as everyone said, both for your dryer's health and the sneaks', but at this time of year, i would hang 'em from a line outside. another reason i love non-leather shoes, easy cleaning!!
Many thanks!
