Breakfast programs at elementary schools?

I'm wondering if anyone here has done the breakfast program at the elementary schools. Do you have to sign up, or can you just show up? This is at Clinton. Thanks!

Breakfast program info is in the stapled packet on free/reduced-price school meals sent home with students in the white folder last week. It seems to say that the form has to be submitted first, but I don't know how long the processing takes and what the logistics are -- it should be quick.

Is the breakfast program only open to free/reduced lunch students, to students in before/after care, or to all students at the school offering it

spontaneous, this is what I am wondering! I was hoping my dd could buy lunch at school once in a while.

I don't know about the elementary schools, but at MMS, breakfast was open to anyone. I would drop my son off early (7:30) and he would use his lunch account # to buy breakfast.

I believe it's open to all, but the FRP kids get the breakfast free or discounted, just like lunch.

I too am curious as to whether you can send your paying child to breakfast at school on a one-off or ad-hoc basis. Orzabelle, can you report back if/when you get an answer about the situation at Clinton?

You just bring the child! No registration needed. oh oh

Cool. I was worried it might be tied to free/reduced lunch (in some areas it is) and by doing so a good thing (a healthy breakfast before starting school) gets turned into a stigma.

IIRC: The only think tied to student income is that all Title I schools are required to have breakfast programs, and the non-Title I schools are not required to serve breakfast?
