Best time to leave for shore

Heading to a party in Seaside today - starts at 12 noon. Is it better to leave early or head out later?

I got caught in shore traffic last Saturday. My gps, waze, took me to Rt. 9 south to 18 to 34 south. It was easy, no traffic. We ended up at spring lake

before 8 on a Saturday and follow Waze -- local streets and detours are a life savers...

Does anyone know what's the best time to post a request for what's the best time to leave for the Shore is? Because under 4 hours before you're supposed to be there obviously doesn't work.
