Had lunch there on Friday. Chicken sando with medium hot sauce. So good. Chicken had a crispy, nicely seasoned crust and juicy inside.
If I'm really hungry next time I go back, the chicken and sweet potato waffles looked amazing. And the portion looked enormous

Place has a friendly vibe.
Two thumbs way up for Barn Bird.
Sadly, one of the things pared from the early menu was the item that my chicken-averse teen wanted to try. I wish them well, but these narrow menus just don’t work well for my family.

Playing Fela Kuti on the sound system didn’t hurt.
No Barn Bird in Hong Kong, but ShakeShack's best item on the menu isn't their burger, but their ChickenShack™ (breaded, fried chicken breast on a roll) with added toppings of dill pickle slices and cherry peppers (mayo on the side).
Just had their chicken sando - OMG. I can't think of a better one! This is line out the door worthy. Like ML1 I requested medium heat which wasn't too spicy at all. The crispness of the batter along with the sauce, slaw, pickle - was all in perfect proportion.
I also had a side of cole slaw - excellent and a generous portion. Tried their sweet potato cornbread as well which was nice - more of a dessert.
The decor is great as well.

it is.
But I was freaked out the horseshoes are hung with the points down. Doesn't that mean the luck runs out ;-)
Add me to the Chorus of Raves for the Chicken Sando!
Best I have ever had by a long shot!
After Jamie’s raving about the sando, I had to get it! It’s the best chicken sandwich I’ve had ever. It’s really the only thing I will likely get on the menu. Hope they keep lots of that brioche rolls in store cause that’s gonna be a big hit.

From the interwebs:
It is said that a visitor once came to the home of Nobel Prize–winning physicist Niels Bohr and, having noticed a horseshoe hung above the entrance, asked incredulously if the professor believed horseshoes brought good luck. “No,” Bohr replied, “but I am told that they bring luck even to those who do not believe in them.”

Very soon after Barn Bird opened, my wife and I went there for dinner. I had seen some specific items on the ambitious online menu that I wanted to try, but they were out of them, so we vowed to come back another time.
Today we walked in for lunch. The menu has been pared down to a few essentials — probably for the better, because what we ordered was delicious. My wife got the sandwich with regular (non-spicy) Yaji seasoning, hold the slaw. I got the jumbo tenders, each one nearly as big as a breast. They were crispy on the outside with medium-hot Yaji seasoning, and moist inside. I’m a mayo-phobe and wasn’t sure I’d like the creamy Barn Bird sauce, but it was the perfect dipping complement to the spice.
The side of Yaji fries was large enough for two to share.
The hibiscus iced tea was too sweet for my wife. (Sweeter than the hibiscus iced tea at Able Baker or Artie’s.) My “Franny’s sweet tea” was more balanced, tasting of some lemon. I’m used to Southern sweet tea, which can taste like sugar water, and this, refreshingly, wasn’t way up there on the sucrose scale.
It wasn’t a cheap lunch — about $40 for both of us, with tax — but we felt we got good value. (No need for a full dinner tonight.) The high school boys at the table next to us raved about the food, and the place was busy as Santa and carriage rides drew a crowd to that end of the village. Here’s hoping that Barn Bird continues to do well.
