ml- There's no such thing as a muffler bearing... ace was just giving him a poke in the ribs, that's all.
Now where's that left-handed screwdriver...?

No, I didn't find that. And I totally missed the joke. :-(

This is really cool of you!
I have a spot of paint that chipped peeled off the tailgate of my suv. Can I buy some exterior auto paint and fix it myself or do I need to pay a body shop?
Thanks.

Cool. Can you tell me where I can find an upper radiator hose for a '78 Beetle? Also need a muffler bearing.
J/K :-D
That's pretty cool, paying it forward.

When are you going to post the video that was taken of Michael receiving the money some of us donated for his reward for returning Daisy, just curious, and agree with Posters, very nice offer for the auto work.

Really? An old-time, er, experienced Ford mechanic, soliciting car questions? If you happen to have an answer for the following, great, and big thanks for offering!!
We have (don't laugh) a 1993 Taurus wagon. We live in Wisconsin, and it was really cold this winter. Two times, when the temp was probably 15 degrees or less, and we hadn't warmed it up much before leaving the driveway, it died within a couple of blocks of the house. Very understandable both times, and I don't fault it at all. One of the times I had had to stand on the brake suddenly, and the other time it was stopped at a light, hesitated on starting up again, and probably the driver pushed too hard on the accelerator for the circumstances.
Here's the thing, though: both times, it then refused to start up again for about 20 or 30 minutes. I was trying to start it every 5 min. or so. It has a newish battery, and was turning over vigorously, but wouldn't catch. Then finally it caught, and drove just fine. Starting up in the driveway has been no problem either, regardless of weather/temperature. It just wouldn't re-start after these two died-in-traffic events.
Any ideas? Our mechanic is a great guy and he and staff are very knowledgeable, but this one has them stumped. DH has also searched online with no luck
Thanks in advance for any ideas. You get a star in your crown for even offering to try.

LOL, sorry. Inside joke for the car people.
And the '78 beetle wasn't equipped with a radiator, it was air cooled..so no upper hose.
When I worked on cars and whenever we'd have new, younger guys, kids looking to apprentice their way through, we'd send them out for those items. Poor guys, they'd drive all of 22 before someone at a parts store would tell them.
I'm sure @Bsnapps has similar stories.

We need a new SUV that seats seven - what's the best new SUV to buy? Looking at GMC Arcadia, Honda Pilot, etc. Was looking at Nissan Pathfinder, but it was named one of the 10 most unreliable cars by US NEWS...

Hey, over here in the back. Your thoughts, sir, on a 2012 Ford Focus Hatch. Seems to get good gas mileage.
