Arcadia Community Solar

Just received a pamphlet about this from someone ringing our doorbell. Has anyone done any research about this. I haven't yet. See please https://www.arcadia.com/community-solar

Thanks.

Bumping this in case someone has some knowledge, which is still more than I currently have. grin

My general rule of thumb is if someone is going door-to-door to solicit business, it's probably a scam or sleazy.

Arcadia is a legitmate company, but according to feedback online their sales tactics are sleazy.

Thanks for your "help". I too saw they were a legit company and I too know that rule of thumb. If you have anything further to add, any true info would be appreciated.Thanks.

Since you asked so nicely...... you did say you hadn't done any research yet.

I see SunRun is soliciting in Home Depot now. They’re a legitimate company. I’m actually thinking of building a carport and have the roof done in complete solar panels. It’s actually becoming cheaper as so many different companies are doing it now. I’m just afraid of damaging my roof, if you have a good sized backyard they can also install the panels there. It’s big business now.

I can't think of any private property in Maplewood or South Orange that would be big enough to install panels in the yard.

The pamphlet talks about investing in solar farms and getting a credit and it showed the breakdown. Has nothing to do with investing in solar panels or not investing anything at all it seems. I may in fact call the company to get more details but thought I'd try here since as I said pretty clearly I hadn't done any research beyond reading the pamphlet. Polite enough for you? TIA.

There's a bunch of reviews here with Arcadia's response:

I think the concept is interesting, but it's always hard to know for sure what the ultimate results will be.

This was very helpful jamie! Thank you for doing the research! Sounds like I'm passing on it.
