Apartments in Maplewood Old Post Office

I was reading in Brooklyn Magazine that they are turning some old post office into an apartment building in Maplewood.  When will they be available for rent?

Oh for chrissake! ANOTHER post office thread? REALLY????

good to see some PR in a Brooklyn publication.  I was concerned we wouldn't be able to recruit enough hipsters to make the new building viable.

Agree, we have to up our game to lure more hipsters:

and Maplewood stores are going to start stocking more artisanal foods

Yes!  It said that to truly be Brooklyn West it needed more rentals in the center of town.  Does anyone know if there is a CVS or TD Bank in town?  Also more Brooklyn hence more familiar.

Yahooyahoo...........yes it is a joke.

The anti-apartment types are not just the anti-hipster types. I notice "young" folks who also side with the opposition. So, I don't really get this joke. The next post will be a senior citizen joke, which will likewise be completely unhelpful to anyone trying to really decipher what is going on.

I'm opposed to single pane glassed buildings and yellow brick. Maybe we should start a post on that.

I don't know about anyone else, but my hipster comment is a riff on the person who started a different thread and then went on a rant about he or she was furious that the township is building apartments for hipsters.

Keep the village a village: Send those hipsters back to Brooklyn!

I have read some truly insulting comments related to this development and the people involved, and while I can shrug most of them off to the passion people sometimes feel about the issues, there was one really hateful and bigoted comment indicating that the development in South Orange Village was turning it into the Irvington "ghetto" and that Maplewood might run the same "fate". That really took the cake.
