Anyone see Ruby Brigs?

It was to capacity so lots of us were turned away. Sad to have missed it. Anyone go? Know if it will be broadcast?

I attended a knitting/crochet group at CHS from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm last night and had trouble entering the building even though I was not there for the Bridges program. Crowd was way above capacity and overflow group was reluctant to leave.

When I left the building after the session I couldn't help but notice the ambulance parked out front.  Anyone know what happened there?  Hope the patient was not in serious condition and that s/he will make a full recovery.

it's Ruby Bridges.

I don't believe there are plans to broadcast it.

It was a great experience. The auditorium was packed with people around the edges and sitting in the aisles. I was trying to think if there was any other venue which would have allowed more people to see and hear her tell her story.  But there really isn't any place in the school district.

My daughter got to see her at Marshall School and was talking a lot about it. Ms Bridges obviously has a good and positive impact when she speaks.

I had the honor and pleasure to have her stay at the B&B yesterday. She was lovely and gracious, even though she didn't have any pancakes... ;-)

That was a fabulous event. We squeezed in the main auditorium and stood in back. Ms. Bridges is a wonderful and compelling speaker - what a story! And a great message. I'm so happy we went (and got there early)

So how did kids at Marshall get to see Ms. Bridges?

Presumably their PTA paid a larger share of the speaking fee than the other participants!  I believe they were the lead organizer.

@Shanabana- Can you please fix the typo in the title? For some reason, it's driving me nuts. So sorry to have missed this event.

According to the promotion materials, the lead organizer was the Parenting Center.

I thought they dropped $15k for a private audience, and someone there was instrumental in getting her here.

That her publicist denied a recording/broadcast was a tad, shall we say, unfortunate.
