Anyone have a pressurized gate to loan?

Hello,

On June 19 my family is going to visit my dad for several days. We are trying to borrow a pressurized baby gate for the trip to prevent our toddler twins from falling down some lethal stairs to a basement in my dad's house. If anyone would be willing to lend or rent your gate please let me know! (We already have 8 gates installed in our own house and would rather not buy another one that would only be used for a few days!)

Thanks!

I have one of these -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MOJWK3A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 - you could borrow. It's pretty cheap but it does block a doorway and does not leave any marks.

Are the eight in your house permanent fixtures? You can't remove one and use it at your parents' house, i.e., "borrow" it from yourselves? (Dumb question, I know, but I have never needed a baby gate...)

One potential issue: it's universally recommended to not put a pressurized gate at the top of a set of stairs, as it could be pushed out and the child could fall down said stairs. (A permanently installed gate is recommended for those scenarios.) Is there another doorway leading to the basement stairs where the gate could instead be installed?

Thanks bog, for that offer. Unbeknownst to me my husband ordered a new gate today and wants to see what it's like before we decide whether to keep it or return it and take you up on your kind offer. Meganlibrarian has me wondering if your gate might not be reliable enough for the top of a steep flight of stairs.

Thanks for the other comments too. We can't dismantle any of our own gates PeggyC. They took many hours to install with plenty of complicated hardware!

Ah, sorry. I didn't know how pressure gates were installed; or maybe the ones in your house are not the pressure type and I misunderstood.

Given what Megan said, I'm not sure I'd trust the pressure gate for steep stairs, either. LOL

I have two. Let me know if they will work for you and I will locate them somewhere in the house.
