Anyone else waiting for SNL?

Should be pretty good.

Can't wait! Loved the first two debate sketches. Baldwin is brilliant. As is McKinnon.

The Beyonce style take down by the Trump women was at least as good as the opening.

I think I liked the Beyoncé bit a bit better. Really enjoyed Bruno Mars.

When I die, my headstone will read: "Still Doesn't Get That Burger King Sketch."

I enjoyed it, but according to the online reports, Trump wasn't very amused by the skit and tweeted the following earlier today:

Watched Saturday Night Live hit job on me.Time to retire the boring and unfunny show. Alec Baldwin portrayal stinks. Media rigging election!

Poor little Trymp doesn't like being made fun of I sincerely doubt that thehandicapped reporter he grossly imitated it like it either

It's bizarre to read and contemplate, but really bizarre to see the tweet (4:14 am today). "Unhinged" is a word that comes to mind.

That being said, I can imagine the SNL writers starting next Saturday's show. Something with Alec Baldwin as Trump watching a television with Alec Baldwin as Trump on it, and shouting "You stink!" at it.

May have been my favorite skit of the night; then again, I've always had a soft spot for the occasional bizarro sketch that is less ha-ha funny and more head-scratching "what the hell?".....

Also liked the hamster-Who's-Afraid-Of-Virgina-Wolf skit....

My scalp got rubbed raw, I'll admit. I'm sure I would've enjoyed it more watching it with someone with your mind-set, and not with Jonathan Franzen.

I took it as simply a 30 second thought that was turned into a 3 minute sketch:

{Thought while eating at a McD/BK}: "Those artsy-fartsy types walking by outside would never be caught dead eating here. But wouldn't it be funny if they did? Probably none of them would even want to make the order... or even know what to order."

"Sounds good. How do we end it?"

"Who cares. Who wants to make a cool super-long limo-bus prop thing with windows that actually slide down??"

(Or maybe it was the other way around -- they already had parts of that limo-bus prop, and then figured out how to use it in a sketch and include as many cast members as possible).

Pretty good Trump skit tonight - surprised Don hasn't tweeted about unfunny ... sad ... disaster SNL is yet.

Who thinks deporting Alec is high on the executive order list?

Maybe not deporting, but"auditing" his tax returns and conducting close surveillance.

I recorded both the old 1978 show with Carrie Fisher and the first-run SNL last night. The difference between the two is striking. There wasn't one thing in the 1978 show that didn't make me laugh out loud. After the opening of the first run show, I fast forwarded past all the unfunny skits (I just don't get those skits where all the women get to "show off" their marginal singing talents), try to watch the news skit (which I just never find funny) and the next thing I knew I was at the end of the program. I hate that I agree with Drumpf about the show, but other than the skits with Alec Baldwin, the show is just not funny to me.

Hmm a tax audit. That would foster an SNL skit, "you show my yours and I'll show you mine."

That Obi Wan's joke and beach blanket thing in the Carrie Fisher episode felt like about 7 hours long. I'd have rather watched the prequel trilogy.

I know this "Old Man Yells At Cloud" stuff, but I'm assuming Sturgill Simpson's songs have words in a recognizable human language, but I couldn't place them. Perhaps they were carrying on with the Star Wars theme of the Fisher episode. The rest of Saturday's show was okay. It took a long time for Felicity Jones to come out of her shell, though. I didn't catch the last 30 yet but what I did see wasn't terrible. Che's bit about black-on-black violence in Chicago was on point, I thought.

yes it does grin

IMHO Sturgill Simpson killed it.

Saw him solo acoustic at City Winery and went home with a CD grin
