Anyone else unhappy with Lollipop update on Samsung Note3?

Maybe it is just me (I don't like change), but I am very unhappy with the recent Lollipop update on my Samsung Note3 phone. Lots of changes (not necessarily for the better) and some lost functionality. Can't find much online about it (still pretty new), but the LG user community seems to be unhappy with it.

Does anyone else have any comments or suggestions about it?

I've had Lollipop on my Nexus 5 since it came out. Bit of a change, some apps are fuggly, like the calculator, but overall it's fine.

I like that the flashlight is accessible from the lock screen, and the two finger pulldown from the top.

Which version of lollipop? 5.0 was very issue laden, 5.1 is much better and 5,1.1 is rolling out now.

Material design seems like people either live it or hate it.

I've been offered that upgrade for my Galaxy 5S but have been holding off. Read some negative comments (e.g., decreased battery life), so figured I'd wait and see...

Lollipop upgrade caused lots of problems for LG on Verizon. Email and gchat notifications don't always work automatically, among other problems. It's tiring, but doing a factory reset on the phone and avoiding downloading old system data  helps somewhat.

Thanks, everyone. Seems to be version 5.0 from what I can see. I've been reading about the LG problems, too. I had looked to see if there were complaints before I ran the upgrade. Next time, I'll look harder.

Any improvement with 5.1?

I am still running 5.0.

My spouse who has a Galaxy S4 just upgraded today.  (He wasn't aware of the concerns about Lollipop.  I have an iPhone, so I hadn't really been paying attention.)

He says that his contacts behavior has changed.  Previously, he would look up a contact and upon selecting the contact from the list he would be presented with a choice to email or text or voice call the contact.  Today after the upgrade, when he selected the contact, it automatically started dialing a voice call, which was NOT what he wanted.  Anyone know if there is a setting for this to restore the previous behavior?

Try Googling the problem. Search for your particular device model + short phrase describing problem. You'll most likely get multiple hits, including suggestions for fixing the problem (assuming it can be). Almost invariably when I follow that procedure I discover countless others with the same problem as mine and very often good solutions.

Upgrading to lollipop on my S4 as I type this.

"Be afraid. Be very afraid."

I don't have an S5. Therefore my experience will be wonderfully smooth.

Good luck. Hope so.  (Why would it be any different for an S4?)

So far so good. No issues to report. I don't love all the interface changes, but they're not too bad.

I have a galaxy S4 and upgraded yesterday.  The one bug you may be affected by occurs when adding widgets or apps to your desktop.  I am unaffected because i use the nova app launcher.  But if you use the stock app launcher you may have issues managing your desktop.

No problems so far. I like that the folders show the icons of the apps inside them. And of course, being able to change background colors grin

Huh.  Thus far, I haven't encountered any of the issues outlined in that article.  Thankfully.

5.1 apparently not available for Verizon Galaxy S5 yet. What a mess. Verizon rep and Samsung support contradict each other. It's an idiots convention jointly run.

I didn't upgrade my Note3 because of all the complaints over on androidcentral.
