Anyone else having pick up trouble with SO Disposal?

For a few months, I've had to call and complain to them about pickups. Either they don't empty both cans or they'll take off with one and I'm left a can down or they'll take off with one that I have to search for which is usually found on a neighbor's property. It's getting insane. I find myself constantly going behind them to check, when I can. Today, again, only one can of trash was taken. WTF? 

I've called and complained many times over and yes, the problem gets resolved with them usually sending them back to pick up what they left behind. Today AGAIN, only one can was emptied. It's too late to call for a pick up and I'm stuck with extra trash hoping that it will get picked up next cycle. When my can went AWOL they purchased another can. I'm usually on my own when playing hide and go seek with missing can(s). Until I find it, I can never tell if they actually swiped it or if it's again in a neighbor's driveway/yard (never the same neighbor, mind you).

Am I alone in this? I'm at my wit's end. My bill's always on time and PIF. I'm really effing' fed up with this BS. 


It's hit and miss, but yes we have had similar problems with them.  Often they will only take what is in a trash bag inside the can.  If there is loose garbage in the can they will leave it behind.  

You may want to move this to "South Orange Specific" to get more replies.

Montrose right? If you're pickup is W/Sa we have the same crew. "D" has been pretty consistent, but the other guy is newish. I'd just talk to D (the guy in the Yankees cap).


The missed both days last week at our house - I called and they sent someone to pick up.


we have had issues with them as well, on meeker, pick up from the front and don't pick up from the back, some days wouldn't pick up at all


Yep, we're Montrose. 

I line my cans with extra thick bags and put the house trash bags inside of those because I don't want the squirrels to gnaw at the bags and leave loose debris. I make it neat and tidy and ready for pick up, but that doesn't seem to work.

We have had many issues with SO Disposal over the last 7 years we have lived here.  I always call and they usually will return to pick up the "forgotten" bag or bags but I simply don't have the time or energy to babysit my waste disposal provider anymore.  So, I have started to place our bags at the curb right before they come by to pick up.  Fortunately we are at the beginning of their route so our bags are typically put out at 6:45/7:00 and gone by 7:15 a.m.  I know that we are paying for backyard service and I agree that trash bags by the street aren't the prettiest things in the world but for some reason it seems like SO Disposal just can't get it right for some of its customers.  Sorry to hear of your frustrations kibbegirl.  I sympathize.


I am not in Montrose and have Tuesday/Friday pickup but, I have twice a week pick up and occasionally, they will miss one of the days. I always mean to call, but don't. I was thinking--this hasn't happened in a while... until I went to put my garbage out last night and Tuesday's was still there...


We have had occasional problems with them, but it has actually worked to our advantage several times in that we have once a week Friday pick-up and they have come Tues AND Fri. I have only had to complain when they have come on a Tues, and then skipped Fri and the following Tues, which has happened a few times. I haven't had any problems with them for a few months. 


We were just saying the opposite the other day - our guys consistently go out of their way to get everything, even when we forget to take off our raccoon contraptions.  Unfortunately, it sounds like it depends on the crew working your neighborhood :/
