An attack on women

Does this response make any sense?

"these videos do not show anything illegal"

"they are trying to cut patients off from programs that reduce unintended pregnancies and save lives"

Sure, why not?

Understand that there are two issues. One is the actual discussion with Planned Parenthood, and the other is the motivation of the people who made the video.

It's perfectly legitimate to discuss what is done with aborted fetuses and question whether anyone is profiting from it (they're not). It's also not a subject that most people are comfortable discussing, and thus people uninvolved in medical research may be repulsed by the way in which it is talked about, thinking it is callous and inhumane. I think there are many areas where people unfamiliar with the inner workings of an industry would be disgusted by the conversations that people with the field have. That doesn't make them illegal or wrong.

The other issue is the actual purpose of those who created the videos. Does anyone honestly believe they intended to perform a real investigation and practice serious journalism? The organization is anti-abortion. It tried to have an innocuous name, but even a cursory check into it reveals that they have a strong agenda. That's fine. It's the hiding it and attempt at "gotcha journalism" that makes it ridiculous.

Is there something in particular about the response that you have an issue with? Do you have an opinion on this?
