I gave a very old car to kars for kids

Actually, it's 1 877 kids for cars. They take kids in any condition and connect them with minivans that are experiencing identity crises. They pile the kids in, give them a snack that contains something with small pieces in an EZ-Spill container in one hand and a sticky snack/drink in the other and go for a ride. It's very therapeutic for the minivans. Parents who donate their kids know they've done something to give back to the community. Win win.

I wish! The older one anyway.

This always comes on the radio when I'm in the shower ...

1-8-7-7 Kars for Kids,
K-A-R-S Kars for Kids,
1-8-7-7 Kars for Kids,
Do-nate your car to-day.

Well, that's what it is now. When it first started in the 70s you call the number and a van comes round and they give your kids candy and you don't see them for weeks.

I like my kar! KIds... I dunno cheese

But really, how can I get someone to haul an old car out of my driveway (tires have mostly flattened) and not have to pay an arm and a leg to get it taken away. I know this has been covered and I'm trying to find that thread (or two.) Can I make this happen today or tomorrow? Ideally someone would want to pay me for the scrap metal value or similar. (I know it's not an ideal world.) Freeway, you are in the world of cars, any suggestions? Thanks.

nakaille - You could try the Salvation Army. The link posted below says that they will tow cars.

@nakaille
I had Kars4Kids take my old car. You will need to have the title.

They will send someone to pick it up.

You should research any organization you donate to so you know what your donation supports.

This makes me think of all those "Drive like your kids live here" signs, which I keep turning around in my mind to "Live like your kids drive here."

I want a sign that says that!

JDBitterman - Thank you. I wasn't aware of the Salvation Army's stance on LGBT issues. I do put donations in their kettles at Christmas time and have donated items to them over the years. I'll have to reconsider this in the future.

This is why my hat has side mirrors.

@nakaille - we just did this. We chose Make a Wish over Kars for Kids. Kars for Kids gives some sort of travel certificate which is pretty useless but the value is deducted from the tax benefit. Make a Wish is a straight donation. It was fast and easy. It won't cost you anything and you'll get a minimum $500 charitable donation receipt. If they sell the car for more than that you'll get a replacement receipt for whatever that value is

To this day I have no idea what the phone number is supposed to be. Is it 877-KARS-For-Kids (Too Many Numbers), 877-KAR-S4KIDS (Still too many numbers). 877-KARS-CARS-FOR-KIDS??? (way too many numbers).

Well, they got the number 1-877-527-7454 which is "Kars 4 Ki" . If you are a little dull, you'll continue to enter the numbers but it won't hurt.

Edited because I looked the correct number up.
