This type of story breaks my heart. On what used to be called my screen saver I have the photo of local firemen and women who responded swiftly when a little boy who was autistic had invited all 16 of his classmates to his 6th birthday party. For whatever the reason no one came. His mom appealed through Facebook etc. and the entire department as well as others came in person with gifts for the little guy. His smile is one of those things that make life worth while.
Our men and women in Blue and our Teachers in more ways than one are unsung Heroes.
