On Tuesday, May 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM TBA Congregational Learning presents a workshop entitled “Raising Ethical Children” led by Peter Nelson, Director of Facing History and Ourselves, held at the temple located at 300 East Northfield Road, Livingston, NJ. Join experts in education or adolescent development, along with the Facing History program staff. The topics will include social cruelty among children, evaluating bystander behavior, being a parent to whom your child can turn, helping your child build self-esteem and combating stereotypes. Facing History and Ourselves is a national educational organization whose mission is to engage students of diverse backgrounds in civic education that encourages the skills, promotes the values, and fosters the ideals needed to sustain a democratic society. Facing History involves the community: parents, teachers, police officers, community activists and other citizens. Facing History and Ourselves is a curriculum that honors duality: process and product, head and heart, history and ethics. All are welcome to attend this free workshop.
