The Jewish Legacy of the Piano…A Year of Celebration at Temple B’nai Abraham October 17 @ 7:30 pm A Series of Solo Piano Recitals featuring Three of the World’s Foremost Artists A list of world-renowned Jewish pianists might begin with just Vladimir Horowitz and Arthur Rubinstein but would quickly reach into the hundreds. As an examination of concert programs from the world’s great concert halls would show, the history of piano virtuosity cannot be separated from Jewish history, so significant and influential have Jewish pianists been. This year Temple B’nai Abraham celebrates this relationship with solo piano recitals by three great Jewish pianists, each from a different country: Arnaldo Cohen from Brazil, on Saturday October 17, 7:30 PM, then upcoming recitals by Joseph Kalichstein from Israel, on Sunday, November 22, , 3:00 PM and Vladimir Feltsman from Russia on Sunday, March 20, 3:00 PM. They will play major works from throughout the classical piano repertoire, representing the breadth of Jewish pianistic accomplishment. Open to the community! Bring your friends! Admission fees per recital: General admission: $25 Students: $18 This series is underwritten by the Ann & Milton Colman/Samuel A. Cohen Fund.
