interACT Theatre Productions is bringing one of the most acclaimed comedies to the stage this January with The Importance of Being Earnest. Oscar Wilde’s comic masterpiece of witty wordplay will run for two weekends, Friday through Sunday at the Baird Theatre in South Orange, Jan. 17- Jan. 19 and Jan. 24-Jan. 26, 2014. This comedy follows the story of two young men who create exciting alter-egos to escape their unwanted social obligations in London of 1895, pursuing their love interests with impunity until their falsehoods finally come to light. Christine Gaden, who last year made her interACT directorial debut with Plaza Suite, will direct this comedy of mistaken identities. The cast includes Dave Holyoak, Miranda Jean Larson, Erik Gaden, Anna Paone, Rosemary Wall, Susan Holtz, Todd Spangler, and Ted Cancilla. Backstage, the crew includes Tabatha Frievald, Kate Soriano, Nicholas J. Clarey, Sabrina Santoro, Roseann Keenan, Meg Gilbert, Zach Pizza, Tasha R. Williams, and Regine Riviere. The Importance of Being Earnest will run 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, Jan. 17, Jan. 18, Jan. 24, Jan. 25; and 2 p.m. Sundays Jan. 19 and Jan. 26 at the Baird Theatre, located at 5 Mead St., South Orange.
