The highlight of the concert will be Robert Aldridge\'s piece for orchestra \"Brand New Day.\" Aldridge, currently Professor and Director of Music at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, will coach the orchestra in his piece, and will answer questions from the audience at the concert. Other pieces on the program will be an organ concerto by Poulenc with Eugene Lavery as soloist, and Sibelius Symphony No. 2 in D major, op. 43. The Society of Musical Arts (SOMA) was founded by the famous Maplewood violinist and music teacher/author, Samuel Applebaum.
