Sing, Swing, Sing!

New Jersey Performing Arts Center Prudential Hall Dianne Reeves, Al Jarreau, Jeffrey Osborne, George Duke and Cyrille Aimée join the Christian McBride Big Band with vocalist Melissa Walker for a night of swinging, feel-good jazz. If you love vocal jazz, you won’t want to miss this exclusive evening of swinging American standards. Some of today’s most acclaimed vocalists will gather on stage: spellbinding, three-time Grammy Award winner Dianne Reeves, the jazzy diva acclaimed for the vocal virtuosity and improvisational ease she brings to the Great American Songbook; song stylist and seven-time Grammy Award winner Al Jarreau, the hit-maker behind “After All,” “Moonlighting,” “We’re in This Love Together” and “So Good”; and versatile, fast-rising songstress Cyrille Aimée, the winner of NJPAC’s inaugural Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, a regular at Birdland and other top NYC jazz venues. For this one-night-only Prudential Hall concert, Reeves, Jarreau and Aimée will share the stage with the Christian McBride Big Band, a high-octane ensemble that earned a 2012 Grammy for its recent The Good Feeling CD, as well as vocalist Melissa Walker, the singer that All About Jazz says “proves conclusively that great standards need never die when in the hands of imaginative stylists able to restore their magic and glitter.” Rounding out the bill are jazz marvels Jeffrey Osborne and George Duke.
