Richie Furay returns to SOPAC after his sold out show last May. He has been a pioneering force in rock and country music since the 1960’s. A founding member of Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and SHF, he has been an innovator of new musical forms, a great songwriter, and last but definitely not least, provided some of Rock and Roll\'s best vocals. After Buffalo Springfield disbanded, Furay formed POCO, one of the first “country-rock” bands with Jim Messina & Rusty Young. POCO’s unique sound was the template for all country-rock music that was to follow. When the Eagles first hit the scene, they were thought to be a Poco-wanabe band.
