An opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2:00 – 5:00 PM. The reception is free of charge and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibit will include an eclectic blend of paintings, prints, photographs, drawings, collages, and shadow boxes from artists: Joan Goldsmith and Amy Charmatz, Carol Black-Lemon and Lana Lemon, Mansa K. Mussa and Abeni Mussa, Onnie Strother and Shaanti Williams. “I’m really excited about this exhibit”, states co-curator Mansa K. Mussa. “It’s a rare opportunity to see how the work two generations of artists can interact in both contrast and in comparison, and also to see how a young artist’s work can be influenced by their parent’s work”. A Shadow Box workshop with Mansa K. Mussa is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 10 AM – 2 PM. The fee for the workshop is $50, plus a supply fee of $15. Registration in advance is required.
