Maplewood Garden Club: Beneficial Insects

Maplewood Garden Club welcomes Kim Eierman who will educate us on Gardening for Beneficial Insects. Put down the pesticide and pick up your gardening trowel instead! Kim explains how to reduce garden pests without the collateral damage from hazardous pesticides. Learn how to attract beneficial insects, nature\'s pest control, with the habitat and native plants that support them. Think all organic pesticides are safe? Think again. Kim explodes these common myths and shows how we can become better environmental stewards of our own landscapes. Our meetings are open to everyone, you don\'t have to be a club member or even a resident of Maplewood. We are a community organization of men and women and offer free lectures monthly on gardening, horticulture, conservation, and related topics. Preceding the lecture there will be a brief business meeting and floriculture/horticulture exhibiting. This month we will have a plant exchange for people who have excess in their garden or their house to pass on their bounty to others. Members and guests are welcome to give and/or take.
