The Sandy Relief Fund Art Show uses the transformative power of the arts to bring us together in common purpose as we struggle to understand and cope with our changing world. 3rd Saturday Arts Ethical Culture Society of Essex County 516 Propsect Street, Maplewood, NJ 07040 973-763-1905 www.essexethical.org Sandy Relief Fund Art Show Events: Children\'s \"Mini\" Art Fair 1 to 5 PM, Saturday, Dec. 22nd Free All ages, children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Draw and color with colored pencils, crayons, and markers surrounded by art, then take it home. The children\'s \"mini\" art fair is a precursor to a series of children\'s art workshops that Irene Dunsavage (see below) will hold for the Sandy Relief Fund Art Show over the coming months. They will be in sets of three Saturdays in a row, pause, repeat as time and space becomes available at the Society. Enrollment will be limited and there will be a fee. Details have yet to be decided, but you can but your name and email on a contact list to receive information as it becomes available either by emailing your request to Hilding \"Gus\" Lindquist at hglindquist@gmail.com or by submitting your request directly at the art show. Focus on the Artists: Irene Dunsavage & Paul Greene 5 to 8 PM, Saturday, December 22, 2012 Free Focus on the encaustics—as well as other work—of Irene Dunsavage in the parlor, and the ceramic art of Paul Greene in the fireplace room. Actually their artwork will up earlier during the children\'s \"mini\" art fair that we will hold from 1 to 5 PM that afternoon. Dunsavage was an art teacher at Clinton School for 26 years, retiring in June 2009, and currently is deeply involved with the Maplewood Community Garden as well as continuing to create works of art. Greene is a well-known ceramic artist living in South Orange. It could be his day job—he\'s that good—but it isn\'t. 3rd Saturday Arts is thrilled to add the works from both of these talented artists to our show. The recovery effort will take time and so will the art show. It runs through Monday, June 17th, 2013. The victims of the storm need ongoing help in recovering from the storm\'s devastation, and that is what the art show is about, helping the recovery. It also helps keep us aware of the continuing needs of the storm\'s victims while raising money and other resources to help meet those needs. 3rd Saturday Art\'s Sandy Relief Fund Art Show at the Ethical Culture Society of Essex County is taking shape. It offers an open invitation for you to participate at whatever level you choose, from attendee to artist to donor to volunteer. Simply come to one of the art show\'s events and signup or contact Hilding \"Gus\" Lindquist, 3rd Saturday Arts coordinator and curator for the art show, 973-738-2496, hglindquist@gmail.com. Queries from artists are welcomed and encouraged.
