You are invited to a cultural event. Indigenous People of Africa Perform Their Unique Music Presenting delegates from the United Nations World Conference on Indigenous Peoples, a high level plenary meeting of the General Assembly, in a cultural exchange event. Ethical Culture Society 516 Prospect St, Maplewood, NJ 4-7 PM September 24, 2014 Griot Ahmed Wantayate will spin musical tales with dance accompaniment. A quartet of pygmies will sing and dance, as they play their native music from Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Replublic of the Congo. Songs and dances of the Maassai will be presented. Akli D, a Kabyle folk hero and musician, incorporates world music into his performances. We will hear voices of the San people of South Africa. For further information: 973 763-8293
