Community Congregational Church, Short Hills, invites the community to Holy Week worship services, culminating in a family-friendly celebration of Easter on Sunday, April 1. Maundy Thursday (March 29) is observed with Reflections on the Cross. Observe the events of the first Last Supper with readings, artistic renderings of the biblical Stations of the Cross, and reflective music on March 29 at 7:00 p.m. On Good Friday (March 30), the Chapel is open from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. for a self-guided, silent prayer vigil marking Christ’s crucifixion. All are welcome, and may enter and depart as desired. Easter Sunday (April 1) is celebrated with Family Worship in the Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Johann Bosman will be continuing his Holy Week sermon series, “Knowing REAL from FAKE,” while children’s activities take place in the Chapel. Afterwards, all kids are invited to an Easter Egg Hunt to search for eggs filled with goodies! Those who arrive early will be asked to wait until all children are outside. A spring outreach project, in conjunction with the Irvington Board of Education, will provide playground equipment for Irvington schoolchildren.
