Herbal Allies for the Cold and Flu Season

The public is welcome at the November meeting of the Maplewood Garden Club, featuring New Jersey-based farmer, beekeeper, and forager Megan Paska, who will discuss the use and preparation of wild and cultivated herbs for wellness. Megan operates a one-acre market garden which adjoins a flock of 75 egg-laying hens in addition to dairy goats, rabbits, and a few honeybee hives. She has taught children and adults at venues such as the New York Botanical Gardens and at her farm, which has fed nearly 40 families. Megan is the author of The Rooftop Beekeeper: A Scrappy Guide to Keeping Urban Honeybees (Chronicle Books, 2014). The program is held at the Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St. Refreshments will be served.
