A discussion from our featured artist, Lula Mae Blocton and Cuban artist and 2016 Artist in Residence, Juan Antonio Picasso will take place in celebration of Black History Month. They will focus on the references embedded in their artworks regarding their historical and cultural heritage - exploring common historical influences in the African American and the African Cuban art worlds. On Sunday at 3pm – Attend and participate in the discussion between Gallery 1978 featured artist, Lula Mae Blocton and Juan Antonio Picasso. Lula Mae Blocton’s exhibit: Persistence of Past and Present..Reflected in Pattern, Color and Light runs until March 12th. 1978 Arts Center is located at 1978 Springfield Avenue, Maplewood.
